Professional Carpet Cleaning, Restoration & Repair

3d Home Services cleans your carpets in the Phoenix area, Surprise Sun City and other West Valley cities, using environmentally friendly products, and a low moisture treatment, with a high powered truck mounted steam extraction system. So your carpets will dry quickly. Our professional carpet cleaning services eliminate dust mites, allergens, germs and traffic area soil and stains. We use a traditional wand and the Rotovac 360 for very dirty carpet. We also have a commercial grade portable machine. It can be used in cases of condos or apartments that are not accessible by a truck mount system. Carpet repairs are also available, such as stretching or patching.

Carpet Restoration is the cleaning of heavy to extremely soiled carpet. A lot of landlords use this process so they don’t have to replace carpets. About 6-8 times the preconditioning enzyme is used in this process, and left to dwell up to 20 minutes to emulsify dirt. Then the carpet scrubbing begins using the Rotovac 360 with a rinse and hot steam extraction.

Q. What is considered a room/area?

A. The average bedroom size is 12 by 12 ft which is 144 square feet. A hallway, staircase or large walk-in closet is considered an area. A great room, large family room, or large master bedroom can be considered 2 areas if they are over 150 sq ft. and up to 300 sq. ft.

Q: Why do some spots come back after cleaning?

A: There are two reasons that spots return:
The first reason is wicking. Many times, the spot that is being removed has seeped into the backing of the carpet. This is common with pet urine, beverages, and anything that is spilled in “volume”. The material dries in the backing and the cushion (pad) of the carpet. When the spot is cleaned, only the material in the “pile” of the carpet is removed. However, moisture is introduced to into the backing of the carpet. As the spot dries, the material that is in the backing of the carpet wicks back into the pile.

Even traffic area soil that is embedded can wick back. This is especially common in glue down carpet that is heavily impacted with soil. When the carpet is cleaned, it looks good. When it dries, the spots and traffic areas come back.

The good news is that if a spot actually wicks back, it can be removed. When spot cleaning a carpet, place a folded white terry cloth towel over the spot just after you clean it while the spot is still moist. Place a heavy object on top of the cloth.

When we do a walk through with you, be sure to point out spots that have wicked back in the past, so they can be treated properly.

The second reason spots return is re-soiling. Re-soiling is caused by a sticky residue that has been left behind. The residue may be from the spot itself, the cleaner that was used, or both. Some common residue causes are over-the-counter carpet cleaners purchased at the grocery store. Avoid using these cleaners altogether. If you have to use one of these cleaners, use as little as possible and rinse with water thoroughly.

Other residue causes include oily spots: body oils, lotions, etc. If the entire oily residue is not removed, it will attract soil as the carpet is walked on. Even quality professional cleaning may not be able to remove all oily residues the first time.

Q. How long do the carpets take to dry after steam cleaning?

A. It usually takes from 3 to 6 hours to dry depending upon the condition and thickness of the carpet, and ventilation. But you can walk on it as soon as were done. Normal traffic wont hurt it.

Q. What furniture do you move?

A. We move things like small sofas, end tables and chairs. We dont move dressers, beds, china cabinets, electronics, pianos and such. All we ask is that you remove breakables and knickknacks from the furniture you want moved.

Q. What kind of chemicals do you use to steam clean the carpets?

A. We use top-of-the-line cleaning products consistent with industry standards and manufacturers recommendations. Our products are environmentally friendly, and OSHA and EPA compliant.

Q. How do you treat pet stains and odor in carpets?

A. Because dogs and cats dont sweat, their urine contains alkaline salts which absorb moisture out of the air. Thus, pet urine never really dries. It becomes a feeding ground for bacteria which causes odor, staining and discoloration. Minor conditions can be handled with a combination of germicidal and enzyme surface treatments, and enzyme injections into the padding. Major conditions usually require pad replacement and floor treatment in addition to treating the carpet.

Q. Why do some stains not come out?

A. Generally these type of stains have literally re-dyed the carpet a different color. Carpets are dyed with acid dyes, and the colors used in Kool Aid, medicines, dog food, etc. are usually these type dyes. Sometimes we can patch a stain. We cut the small area of carpet that is stained and replace it with extra carpet that you may have or take a patch from a hidden spot or a closet.

Q. Will bleach stains come out?

A. Bleach stains are irreversible without re-dying processes.
